Mayor LaKind has worked in the Information Technology field for more than 30 years, specializing in messaging and collaboration applications, mobile device management, and information security.
He moved to Colorado from Scottsdale, AZ, in January 2018 with his partner Carol. They chose to live in Monument for the small-town feel, four seasons, mountain views, and excellent displays of severe weather. They both have daughters that continue to live in Arizona.
His education in IT has been mostly self-taught, and he keeps current through various online offerings from Microsoft and other vendors relevant to his work. He holds an MCSE + Messaging certification from Microsoft.
