Minor Permits

Home Improvements

The Pikes Peak Regional Building Department (PPRBD) can now process land use permits for the Town of Monument for certain improvements, including:
  • Furnace replacement
  • Miscellaneous electrical
  • Miscellaneous plumbing work
  • Roofs
  • Water heater replacement
All other improvements must obtain a land use permit directly from the Town of Monument before proceeding with a building permit through PPRBD.

Please note that all contractors must have a current Town of Monument business license on file before a Land Use Permit can be issued.

Visit the El Paso County page for County information.

Residential or Commercial Additions

Residential and commercial additions, such as garage enclosures, decks, or a tenant finish-out, require a Land Use Permit. A materials estimate, minus all labor costs, is required to calculate use tax. Please complete the appropriate land use permit for your project:
As with new construction, the location of the project may require additional fees, such as BRRTA or Triview. Visit the Maps page for the location maps of these districts.
