Waste Accumulation


Any accumulation of garbage, refuse, or junk on any premises, improved or unimproved, is prohibited by Town Code.

Additionally, no person shall throw, place, scatter, deposit or bury any garbage rubbish, waste material or ashes in or upon any public street, alley or other public place or upon his or her own premises or the premises of another.

Garbage


"Garbage" is putrescent animal and vegetable wastes resulting from the handling, preparation, cooking and consumption of food.

Refuse


"Refuse" is:
  • Ashes
  • Bottles
  • Boxes
  • Cans
  • Containers
  • Excelsior
  • Garbage
  • Glass
  • Grass clippings
  • Hay
  • Leaves
  • Manure
  • Paper
  • Rubbish
  • Shavings
  • Straw
  • Waste and discarded building and construction materials including:
    • Bricks
    • Broken concrete
    • Cinder blocks
    • Loose, discarded or unused material
    • Plaster
    • Roofing materials
    • Sacks
    • Stones
    • Wire or metal binding
    • Wood

Junk


"Junk" includes any:
  • Appliance
  • Automobile part
  • Cable
  • Fixture
  • Furniture
  • Machinery
  • Mattress
  • Old cordage
  • Personal property or any other thing of part, whether:
    • Broken
    • Demolished
    • Deteriorated
    • Dilapidated
    • Discarded
    • Dismantled
    • In a condition that it would not be normally usable in its current state for its original manufactured use
    • Partially dismantled
    • Value or valueless
    • Worn
  • Rags
  • Rubber
  • Scrap material
  • Scrap metal
  • Tires
  • Used lumber
  • Vehicle
